Scuba

Location

One foot at a time

I climb into my wet suit

Puff of air

As I check my tank

The unknown mysteriousness awaits

Bubbles float to the surface

The world starts to bounce in the glistening sunlight

A new community of creatures comes to life

Drift, drift, and drift into the currents

Colors are livelier

Dreams are resilient

Thinking is purer

My existence is one with the sea

The deeper I go

Colors change from place to place

Purity and innocence is all I see

Life, Texture, Vengeance

Means of survival

Layers of life changes like the fluctuating tides

Never in one place for long

The hue of what’s around me is all one sees

Life’s endless questions all seem less important with waves crashing over  head

A lasting pause from realism

Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles

Frolicking with the sea life

Meld with their home

Wanting to never leave

A door that’s always open and welcoming

Momentary satisfaction of carelessness

Floating around in a fantasy while emerged in the fantastical fiction of waves

A place where you can be anything or do anything

The sensation of flying

My mindless heart always knows when I am home

Nothing more freeing than trading life’s ankle chains for the weight of my scuba belt

I am free

Alone with my thoughts

The unforgiving challenges overcome with a simple gesture

Wandering the wonders on the sea floor

Swimming through the gardens of coral like a stroll through an endless prairie of flowers

Washed over with salty waves and blistering skies

 One life left behind

Another resurfaces

Drift, Drift, Drift
