Screams

May 22 was the worst

Just gotten home from school

He wasn’t there

He had been gone for too long

When Mom came home she told me

He was gone

Never coming home

Screaming, lots of screaming

Pacing for hours

Checking the front door

Waiting to see him coming up the street

He never did

I still wait

For my dad to come home
