Scream!

Location

I want my voice to be heard,

Not just here for my ears but everywhere!

I want my voice to echo, to create goosebumps

on the arms of those who choose to listen.

To those who choose to give me their time,

To those who chose to stop and hear me

Hear my voice as it cracks and shakes

Hear the occasional pause I take a hard swallow

And try to find my mellow place

I want our voice to be heard

Those screams that have made our voice raspy

Everything and everyone that has ever caused us pain

And took and stripped everything we had, away

I want our voice to be heard

So when we're lying in our graves we aren't forgotten

We aren't thought of as mindless souls,

who roamed the earth, the generation before

I want our voice to be heard so when you listen to the silence

That is NOT silence you listen to us and hear our stories

Hear what happened here before, and then past it on

And when your time comes, you'll be wanting your story to be told and heard

And your screams will overshadow ours but together our stories will be told

I want our voice to be heard
