Scars of Survival
Scribble, Scribble, Scratch/There I go/ Burning pen across paper /Words, Sentences, Some Notes/ Notes about important things/ Like my prayers and dreams /Some notes revealing me /And some good messages that I hope/ Somehow, someday children will receive/ Scribble, Scribble, Scratch, Scratch, Breathe/ There I go again/ Burning paper with my overheated pen/ Growing stronger as a writer within/ Writing about stories fake and real/ To not only inspire someone to write too/ But to relive a moment, a fantasy/ Some kind of mystical fairytale paper reality/ That will help me escape my reality /The painful, stressful reality that every day brings/ God bless the ones who invented pen, paper, pencil /These wonderful stress reliever utensils/ That help express emotions, thoughts, and past people's devotions/ Scribble, Scribble, Scratch, Scratch, Breathe, Scratch, Screech, Screech/ My hand is sore/ My head is going numb /Papers are burnt along with my pen which has went red /From the previous stress I have had/ But even though I am stressed out I have to keep marking up/ My paper with flames of not only stories and fantasies/ But concerns for humanity /Concerns about the world's problems/ That some seem to not bother/ For they feel that those problems will get solved/ By our elders who are just as boggled as we are /We are the only ones who can solve this /We are the future so we should get involved in this/ Not later, not tomorrow, but today/ With pen and page/ Writing up ideas, dreams, thoughts, and what we should do/ Or, better yet, to begin with what we should say /Scribble, Scribble, Scratch, Scratch, Breathe, Scratch, Screech, Screech, Scratch,Gasp/ Write about the world's problems/ Yes I encourage us to do/ But don't forget to write about other important things/ Like now's issues/ Whether it be school, home, or just you/ Write with a purpose/ And go with it all the way through/ For minorities out there, write to show we are smart /Not illiterate /For writers, like myself, write to not only tell stories, express emotions,/ And to show off your mad writing skills/ But to keep another way to communicate/ Something that technology will, soon, obliterate/ Alive for more than just today /But for the rest of our lives and others as well/ In the future which we all hold in our hands/ There in our hands is a pen and paper/ Or pencil and paper to right down what we have in store/ What we hope to have in store for those to see/ For those to read and to hopefully write about/ To carry on our journey/ Scribble, Scratch, Pop, Crackle ...Tear...Crumble....Scribble...../ There I go again /With others who came before me /Who started this writing story/ With you now before me /Setting off sparks of not only flames/ But fireworks of change /On every single page /For if you are not inspired to write something down now/ After all the pages I have burned/ Right before I was supposed to take this final bow/ Then that means I have failed humanity/ Which means the curtains cannot close/ Which means this show must go on/ With a new pen and paper at hand/ I will keep writing to stand /For writing is important to me /And I'll keep scribbling, scratching, and screeching /Until writing is important to everybody.
