The Scarlet Rose

I'm sitting here, battled and wounded.

Trying to keep my place in this world.

Memories from that last night going through my head-

"I will love you forever, but you must live without me."

And all I have left is this scarlet rose.

I try to hold myself together,

But only you could do that for me.

You think this is a game, and you can play it however you want-

But you're wrong,

This is my life, and I have been deeply wounded.

And all I have left is this scarlet rose.

When you cross my mind,

I look at this scarlet rose.

It brings back the memories of us that last night,

Holding each other tight.

We both knew this would happen,

But we underestimated how much hurt.

Haunted with the fear and strong love we had,

Time and each other is what kept us together.

And now all I have is this scarlet rose.
