Saturday's Anthem

Friday departs as the hour hand reaches 12,

reaching for the moon she sings

an anthem of how time took a leap,

Saturday has been long withheld.

Sunlight reaches out from the sky,

painting tears into her glowing eyes.

A day like this she hasn't seen before,

her attention set upon the war.

The beauty kindly takes her hand,

walking up a flight of gold-tinted sand.

Her view of the world could not remain the same,

so she explained her story through the works of paint.
