A Safer Place

A Safer Place

By Carley Lovito

I dream about a safer place

Where we can go to stay

I dream about a place where I can raise my kids one day

A place where we dont have to fear to learn or sing or pray

I dream about a safer place where guns have gone away

I look around to those with weapons, both on the tongue and bearing arms,

Have we lost the ability to find peace without harm?

I imagine a world where my family will know I'm safe when I'm not home

I cannot go to school, or work, or even church alone

I dream about a safer place

A place I hope is earth one day

I dream about a safer place

Where we all can be okay
