a sad story

the car
same car that hit so hard, it smashed into a water hydrant
homeboy's brother's teeth were shattered
light skin frame mangled
body dangled
as he dragged himself out the car
his brother in whom he loved to death
had just been in a car accident
he was afraid to lose his brother
in the hospital beside herself
his mother was crying
his screams were muffled
his mouth was held together by metal wires
jaw was held in place by a metal monster
slur speech
drinking soup
drinking water
as his brother was laying in bed, he appeared to be angry by the second
his anger got the best of him and took it out on his younger brother
he loved his brother despite of the maltreatment
day after day tending to his needs
bringing him soup
a bucket for him to spit
when he was finally back on his two feet
he was back in the streets
he would call for his brother and got no response
he was gone once again
the pain
the agony
the worries
mental beatings all gone
in a place of no return
he only his brother's face on drunken nights
if he can get up early
he can catch his brother coming back from a night with his friends
arms wrapped around his knees
but the legs kept moving
and the little boy gets shoved to the side
where he wonders where his brother disappeared this time
his mother would scream and throw platanos
while he is caught in between the verbal warfare
kids were on the way
but he continues his ways
once again, he became a proud servant to his older brother
bucket on one hand
soup on the other
he knew once his brother was better
the arms will not hug back

Never bite the hands that feed you...always be humble and don't forget to count your blessings. A very poignant story...you did great!
