A Sad Scene

As I take a walk in the park

I see a mother carrying her

son in a stroller but then she loses him

her son;

a couple has dispersed;

has dispersed their own lives;

a woman sobs over the loss of a loved one;

a stray dog coming home to his family

with no food to eat;

a homeless man who has one shoe,

a few missing teeth, and

ragged clothing, begging for

loose change;

and after all this, I noticed that the rain begins

to pour down and a boy falls on his knees

begging the sky for an answer.
