a sad day (player benched)

Location

an incredible young man i have the priviledge to know just got arrested

drugs was found in the car-he wasn't the one driving

he was in the car with of all people

his father and trainer, the ones who were suppose to be angels echoing wisdom

but instead, became devils is shedding lies resonating this notion that nothing was going to happen

haven't you learned that the devil is a liar  IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he lie to you

not only you were stopped,  you got caught

thanks dad, thanks trainer,  job well done

you just gave your son a one way ticket

not to major leagues to embark a career

but straight to a place where you give more reason to invest money in building jails rather than a ballpark

i believe him that he innocently didn't know there was drugs when arrest was made

but cops don't have time to distinguish who's who

they did their jobs unfortunately

this is a sad day for me as a counselor who knew this young man

i ask all of you to not judge him, never had a history of disciplinary issues in my four years

that i've known this gifted baseball player

i won't see him walk down the aisle and graduate

but i'm thinking of you little brother

i believe you, i believe in you

i hope and pray that this doesn't hurt your chance of obtaining a scholarship

you are very worthy

in the court's crooked eyes, you struck out once

in my eyes, it was a mini slump

but your father and trainer, fire them and hire someone that will give you the right bat

so you hit a grand slam to not clear bases

but clear your name so that the world doesn't view you as a typical baseball stud with all talents and no brains

Wow, this is so heartfelt and so tragic. I relate to this poem, I recently was arrested for an Extreme DUI in the state of AZ ... worst thing to happen. No prior history - this isn't suppose to be my life. Encourage him to keep going because theres never an end until he makes his end. Write to him, visit him, let him know you are there. It seems so daunting with the guilt, the remorse, the fear ... If it wasn't for the support from family and friends I would never get through this trying time. I'm sending all positive vibes your way and to your friend ... stay strong in your faith. The accusations and punishments here don't last for all eternity! Beautiful story

MVP-Most Valuable Poet
