Rushing Water Passes By Me

Thu, 10/26/2017 - 22:32 -- chlomo

Rushing water passes by me

A prickly green dome surrounds.

My eyes hold the afternoon sky

To watch the hours pass by as it bleeds and dies.

My stretching hands reach for their friend's,

As both chalice the rushing water.

Like a pendulum, our arms swing

All the way up to heaven and back.

I focus on the voice that sings

That blankets my thoughts with wool:

Familiar it warms me,

And anxieties it soothes

And yet that voice it charms

Nymphes and Elves within the mind,

Whose whispers rise and bubble to laughter.

Rushing water passes by me,

The day shall surely end.

We glance back at the shoreline once or twice,

But on we laugh through the rapids.
