Running through the rain

I see you running through the rain

I know its a stretch

Even for my fantastical childish dreams

But I still can see it

I see you running through the rain

Legs beating behind you

While your feet fly

And your heart

Passing them all

Resting with me

While I wait without even knowing o

I see you running through the rain

A tap to beckon me forth

As I’m met

By wet tendrils of hair

I once ran my hands through

And eyes

A shade of such an ugly color

That made me fall in love with such a precious wonder

I see you running through the rain

To tell me

Just one more time

Let me say goodbye right

Let me kiss you

And tell me

Do you still want me to go?

I see you running through the rain

To tell me

Why would we give this up

And I’d tell you

I never did

And now I’m waiting by my window

Watching your ghost pass

But

I can still…

I can see you running through the rain
