Rubatosis

A mind has vacated its body

Escaping voids lingering deep within a battered soul

With ignorance to the disconnect it harvests

A storm is brewing yonder

And one will become wary listening to the thunder

If no mind is paid to the

Pulses of lightning illuminating the skies

Alas, a single heartbeat calls out to a statute state of

Subconscious being,

It is a rhythmic knocking against one’s core

So unusually prominent, it has taken them by surprise

As if they are sitting in the middle of a cobalt atmosphere

Bursts of light erupt through the skin, illuminate the dark

Nostalgic snippets of a worthwhile existence flash all around

With every beat of the heart sending life through trusty veins

A steady metronome keeping time alive for a soul that has abandoned ship.
