Rose Colored Glass

Bouquets and color film,

nests of laughter and love

So many colors.

Murals and painted smiles

canvas dripping with life

Colors, colors

Shades of blues

hues of pinks and purples

All behind a pale shade of glass

Glass riddled with cracks

That scar the imagery

What lies on the other side?

Shriveled flowers and blackened film

holes of loss and grief

So much silence.

Shattered windows and smeared frowns

canvas torn and shredded

Shades of black and gray

scenes of desolate valleys

All behind a pale shade of glass

A pale shade of mask.
