romanticizing Romeo

I asked him once if he narrates things in his head

The way that I do

The way that

We.

Do.

"GIRLS," society screams, "LOVELY, LONELY, UNKNOWINGLY BEAUTIFUL GIRLS!"

But are there no lovely boys?

Why is it that my brother

Will never hear the words,

"I love you for the freckles in your eyes,

and the curve of your collar bones."

When my sister hears it every day?

Boys.

YOU ARE AS LOVELY AS THE DAY IS LONG.

YOU ARE AS WILD AS A FOREST GROWS.

You deserve to be romanticized,

The way that she is romanticized.
