The Road Im Walking

Location

College... That place we all wish to be. That place we say we need, to get through life... worry free. College... Ive been told its a great place. But to know I cant afford it, leaves me sideline to the race. Wait... No.... I take that back, no cost will stop my grind. No cost will stop my ambition, no cost will stop my shine. See... I grew up in a place, where guns are more common than diplommas, little girls become mothers, and the block is only set out to hurt ya. I grew up in a place where, education is secondary. Where graduation is just a day, rather than make it to the next January. Oh, you made it another year?... They're proud. Because the block didnt take you away, but why sit around, and procrastinate, just to repeat the same type of day. All these streets, all these blocks, but we're in the same place with sirens and gun cocks. Trying to figure out why its less schools and education than there is drug spots. They say the streets aint for everyone, but these guys just sit on porch stoops. You can walk these streets, dont let them walk you, You cannot let them guide you. If Im walking the streets, its to get to the next, trying to find my destination. College may be far, but if I start walking now, ill make it there soon through hardwork and dedication.
