This Road, I Travel With You

The road beats on beneath my feet,
It splits the air with every beat
It makes me scared to even speak,
And takes us there when we are weak.

The road everlasting,
The one that's ever-passing
The long-faded dreams
And sinking as it gleams;
The ever-blinking beams

--Of light around us
On an earth, full of dust.
Be the dreamer inside,
And dream on every stride;
The road beating blazes,
And sweeping, floats like mazes.

On the road I've come to know
The very precious road,
It sings to all a boastful blow;
And gay, its very mode.

This road that beacons us home,
Wherever we do go
We will never be alone
You, I, and road below.

The road I travel is now,
And tomorrow will be new…

This road once I travelled with you.
