A river of tears 

runs deep deep 

within my soul 

No one sees it

Not even you 

I hide it in my heart 

And i see it go by 

Every time I see you 

In my mind 

In my life 

Or when it is hard 

For me to say good bye 

 

That same river carries me away 

But it doesn't wash 

That pain away

The river only carries me 

To places I hate 

Places that keep me awake 

And very aware of my mistakes

 

That same river runs by a house 

Only carrying  trouble 

Problems 

Agony filled with words

That yell out for help 

And with a little boy 

Who sees two people fight 

But yet live under the same roof

 

That river is where I drown

Every day 

Every hour and minute 

That goes by in my life

And I scream in hope of help 

And yet people think I want attention  

But I can't swim!

I can't float in peace!

I can only gasp in need for air 

Until the end of the day

I wait for me to finally say good night.
