I cry for those who cannot cry anymore

I speak for those who are lost

I can’t take the violence anymore

I refuse to believe this is the world I live in

I mourn the loss of another child of the earth

His suffering has ended

Why are we like this?

We have lost faith in this world

Why do we kill and maim?

To mask the pain we hold

Why do we allow this to happen?

Because we feel helpless against it

My tears flow for the blood that has been spilt

For the pain inflicted on the innocent

I comprehend what is happening

I understand the action

What I don’t understand is the motive

Why do people take lives that are meant to live?

They love the power over us

What drives them?

Our fear

Tell me why this happens

Tell me when innocent blood will stop trickling down the streets

When the well of malice dries up

Tell me when it will stop

Tell me when I can close my eyes again to rest in peace

Tell me when its okay to breath again
