The Right to Be
Location
At one point she had enough
where times for her were very rough
she sat down with a smile on her face
and the bus still ran at its own pace
everyone was getting on trying to go somewhere
she could begin to feel the tension in the air
people starting noticing, looking, seeing
but she just ignored their feelings
once she sat down she was there to stay
no matter what anyone was going to say
her pride took hold of her, wrapped her up
but the passengers knew she would not give up
even though she refused seat
inside, she felt as if it was a defeat
her stance made a mark on history
that would stay for years, her personal story
the tale of Rosa Parks and her will to live
revealed that something had to give,
so that every person on that bus had to see
that she had a right, a right to be
