Why in the world do poems need to rhyme?
You would think with everything else in the world
People would be more willing to less rhymes slide.
With depression and poverty
Why is it so important that cat goes with hat
That frog goes with log
That mean goes with green
And that dogs can jog?
Even without thought our minds go to rhyme
When it should be about recycling and standing up for equality.
It will always confuse me how easy we rhyme
And how easy we pass those suffering in silence.
So why in the world do poems need to rhyme?
Because if we rhyme then we don’t need
To see what’s truly in front of our eyes.
