Stand up, stand up and start moving the way

that the Lord shows you so clearly.

Bring hope to the hopeless and help to the helpless

and live the plan of salvation dearly.

 

I know without Christ "all things" before men

show reality as an illusion

and the way things are and how they appear

are separated by wisdom's intrusion.

 

Well the latter I know "wisdom" that is

if requested will be freely given

but only to them ... who belong to the Lord

who in Him are freely forgiven.

 

There is much grief I see in them

on whom wisdom is fully bestowed.

Reminds me of scripture that time and again

tells us of love's simple role.

 

It's patient I know and very kind

envy far removed

it does not boast and is not proud

never selfish or rude.

 

It endures all things and hopes all things

and believes and rejoices in truth

It never fails or seeks her own

and always pays her dues.
