Rescued

So many ways you put me in a daze:

Your alluring curve and masculine scent;

The way your smile assaults the haze

And rescues me from being spent,

Worn from countless hours in the craze.

How you furrow your face in thought

When you're listening to me speak

Ensures that you ignore me not,

And above all the rest, what makes me peak

Are the gentle oceans that pierce me, shot;

          The king you use for sight -

          They glance upon my soul

          And bring my hairs upright.

So you are the change in this last year,

Bringing hope and relief, so sincere;

With you at my side, there's nothing to fear.
