Remember Me?

If we travel back to a time of simple tag and “you can’t catch me”

You’ll also go back to a time of when it was you and me

Of taking turns on the last swing

And running around the park we would always keep

Keep going back to because it was like déjà vu

Of that time you fell and I came and helped you

And yes that’s a metaphor

For the times Id rather not refer to

We laughed and cried

Our eyes never dry

For they glistened with the subtle light

Of the days that were a little more bright

Well I guess the parks closing

I guess your wound is healing

‘Cause you seem to be walking farther ahead

Seem to be skipping a little too big

Maybe its my fault

Maybe im dragging

But ive tried to catch up and you just keep laughing

Do you remember me?

Do you remember who taught you to play that one game

Do you remember who stood by you when others left for gain

I know ive changed and you have too

I know ive been lost but im signaling you

Do you remember me?

More importantly

Do you even remember you?
