Remember, God Loves

Remember to smile. Remember to love

I may not know you, or know exactly what you go through

But know, God will free his people

They can put us in a box

Behind the bars that has the locks

Remove our rights and say we're not

Worth a thing dead or alive

But I will smile and I will nod

So quizzically they wonder how

Intrinsically so deep inside

It's cause I know that soon my God

...Will rescue, his people

Stopped and frisked while on the block

Our government lets us get shot

Distortions and disproportions

Disenfranchised in this discordance

And then chastised as we're discouraged

Of what our lives mean and what's it's purpose

But fear not,

God freed his people through Aaron and Moses

Christ came, Jesus freed all of our souls with

A sacrifice of life that would never condone sin

With forgiveness of the lives that only have known it

Oppressors can reject us, neglect us, and disrespect us

Oppressors can come test us, molest us and try to stress us

Oppressors can detest us, come get us, but keep ya head up

'Cause God blessed us so oppressors can never truly oppress us

So remember to smile, and remember to love

I may not know you, or know exactly what you go through

They can kill the body...

But they can never kill our soul

Just be confident know

God is with his people
