Remember the Child (Christmas)

run from the wind

the shore, the sea

from the traitors of men

and the locks and the keys.

sprint from the castles

the horses, the knights

from the crown on the head

and the storm within sight.

keep from the secrets

the whispers, the plights,

from the rumors on foot

and the gossips in flight.

remember the gentle

the calm and the mild

the placid and tender:

that sweet newborn child.
