Release

Release (English Sonnet)

There was something about his eyes

Like sadness crept in through his veins

Made home of his heart where it’d hide

Clouds of anger that swelled of rains.

Some sullen soul hid beneath his weak grin

Told a deep truth his words never could.

Despite the long hairs that covered his chin

The child within never cried when he should.

All his life he was full of pride

Until his sad eyes saw the girl

All his life he’d kept it inside

This girl buried his fear, changed his world

She held his large hand, never asking why

She cradled his head, “Its okay to cry.”
