This past year 

I reflect that event 

Where our new president-elect 

Became Donald Trump. 

Not only stunned hearts, 

But shattered faith 

To the country 

I thought we could trust. 

Piercing the lives 

Of many more, 

Never have we ever felt 

So appalled before. 

Despite how it happened, 

We all did our part. 

Therefore we must survive 

And come together strong.
