Red,White, Blue

Red, white, blue-the country in which I exist

Never questioned or realizing that something is amiss..

Born to a culture that screams being patriotic since before I was a kid.

Red

White

Blue

The colors I thought meant so much.

But let me tell you something- this country is so outta touch.

We preach about equality and how everyone's the same,

But in those same streets we hear the same old names-

Gangbanger

Wetback

Chink

Nigger

Cracker

We think we’ve changed, that racism isn’t real

That thought from you I’m gonna steal.

In the system this racism is so ingrained,

As an immigrant's child, I see this country’s great stain.

Unemployment low, college dream vanished,

Race relations diminished- not even 21 and I feel finished.

But where else can I find this-

Red

White

Blue

Well look at a map, it’ll show you what’s true.

We are a country of many with these three colors-

To bad i can’t move there, but I have no money like my fellow brothers

My country
