To reap

Job 4:8

Even as I have seen, those who plow iniquity
and those who sow trouble reap the same.

To reap...

Crawling through the desert ... searching the horizon

barely can see past the imprints of my hands

The sunlight bearing down ... but all I see is darkness

remembering the lost map ... that leads to the Promised land

Where is food and water ... when hunger screams in my soul?

Where is the answer ... when the desert winds are blowing?

Where is the moisture ... for my drying heart and bones?

What will be the future ... as my despair keeps growing?

Why can’t I see the One ... I need to run too?

Where are the ministering angels ... in my escape from evil?

Why is it only me ... that I try to save now?

Why didn’t I care about the pleas before ... from other people?
