Reality check

Job 42:1-3 New English Translation (NET Bible)

Job’s Confession

42 Then Job answered the Lord:

“I know that you can do all things;
no purpose of yours can be thwarted;
3 you asked, ‘Who is this who darkens counsel without knowledge?’
But I have declared without understanding
things too wonderful for me to know.

Reality check

Am I a misguided missile fired at a point in time?

And as I whistle through the air leaving debris of every kind.

Was I aimed in the right direction but got lost along the way?

Maybe through some slight deflection, I am soaring now astray.

There is no way of stopping now unless I run out of fuel

As then afloat in space and time with nothing to procure

Who will recover this useless mess? Who will analyze what went wrong?

Will this prepare others for the test in preparation to come along?
