I told you the ramekins
are breeding.
You said that it's impossible,
ramekins can't fall
in love.
I said nothing
of love.

You tell me I have
a problem with
tense shifts.
I tell you sometimes
the ground shifts,
I can imagine you
as someone with
inopportune luck,
getting caught in
an earthquake
barely in
the shower.

I told you we shouldn't
have bought a
sectional, crevasses
spring up all down
its length,
dividing us.
You said we're better
off this way,
it's like having
three couches
instead of one.

You tell me
that you told me,
the cheap blinds
are melting
in the sunlight.

I tell you maybe
they're melting
in the moonlight
and you have
a problem
with tense shifts.
