A Rainbow losing its Pigment

Dedicated to the family members and victims of the Orlando Tragedy

When the moon kisses the seas,

The oceans turn red.

When the nation mourns the lost,

Our hearts turn red.

Night falls…

Eccentric pulses surging in the air.

Smilling bodies all around.

Lovely pigments dancing in and out of the lights.

Individual sparkles in the crowd.

Pigments cherished…

Pigments smiling…

Pigments dancing…

The bartender makes the last call.

Shots filling the bar top.

The night becomes alive.

“Everyone to the floor! Everyone to the floor!”

Pigments scattered…

Pigments hiding…

Pigments running...

Trapped in front of an exit.

Bullets aimlessly fly.

Screaming shots silencing lives.

A rainbow losing its pigment.

Pigments carried…

Pigments crying…

Pigments dying...

Lights illuminated the outside.

Stained clothes and minds filling the night

Smudged pigments screaming for help.

Wounded trying to survive.

Daytime rises...

No pulses linger in the hollow air.

Cellphones echoing all around.

Loved pigments laying lifeless on the floor.

Individual sparkles grayed out.

Awaken to the cry of devastation.

A nation’s heart breaks.

A tragic sound that echoes in history.

Souls rightfully remembered.

When the moon kisses the seas,

The oceans turn red.

When the nation mourns the lost,

Our hearts turn red.

Thanks so much! I was sitting on my sofa and watching multiple news channel's to get as many details as I could (aka. Cellphone echoes and the quote). I really appreciate you taking the time to read my poem. It means the world!
