A "quiet" stillness ...

1 Corinthians 15:55

55 Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?

Now a quiet stillness ... emotions now at rest

and for this moment ... it surely must be best.

For now at least it seems ... that all things are past

or maybe simply hiding ... in the ones that last.

Displayed in a casket ... but you are long gone

You moved into our hearts ... so we’d never be alone

For this special moment ... we will be gathered

to say farewell to what is not there ... yes all for the better

When later I’ll go home ... you’ll be with me in the car

Engraved in heart and memory ... you’ll never be too far
