Question 29 With Apologies to Robert Frost And His Poem 'Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening'

When things are grim
and I have no one to turn to for love
and support,
I turn on my shower
as hot as it will go and sit under the spray.
Sometimes I cry. Sometimes I sing.
I think about suicide.

I think of the people
and pets I'd leave behind.
I think of all the things I still want to do.
When I'm finished thinking,
I turn off the water and remind myself of the poets' words;
"For I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep
and miles to go before I sleep."

Then I dry and dress
ready to face the world.
