A Queer Dream

I am the ugly catipillar,

hiding in the shadows around the corner.

Ignored.

Until one frightful night

evolutions

true form came to me at once.

Kicking and screaming

I ripped away my fake skin

like a snake shedding his own.

I am born again. As a butterfly.

Authenticity

is my name and that used to scare me,

but no longer.

I am the phenoix from the

fire.

The one everyone left but still survived

like grass growing in the cracks of sidewalks.

I am the rainbow who bounced through your

window,

beautifully

alone.
