I never had to fight to live,
Or visit June of '69.
I'm too young to see a club,
But I know where I belong.
I've seen the Queens in the prison bus,
And saw my brothers beaten.
The police, they were to save us!
We locked them out till morning.
A raid on the home, that kept the homeless in.
Filled with teens, and Queens, and the in-betweens.
The weak they should all be,
But all lashed out with dignity.
The battle rages for three nights.
Coins thrown to buy our rights.
This is the day it all begins!
When the queers stood up at Stonewall Inn.
