Put on a Show

What ticks me off....society don't you see.

People have to put on a show while their hearts plea.

We must put on a smile, and lock our hearts.

Cover the tears, and hide these war marks.

Step over these shattered memories and put on fancy clothes.

Clear out our minds as we smile, act and pose.

We are fed lines for which we have rehearsed.

And whisper quickly as we converse.

The stage is set, and ready to begin

Do you conform and forget, OR exit the stage and not get sucked in.
