Pull Back

If only it were light

That you desperately needed,

But it's not.

I'd light up your world

So you'd have to spin around

And rethink it all--again

But the tragedy is

You're gone

Lost in your mind somewhere

You paint your being cold

With a brush of despair

I'm not a miracle worker

Time won't be bribed back around

I want to save you from yourself

But you won't be found

You refuse to acknowledge

Reality.

Refuse to see truth among lies

Ignore all my pleading and reasons

Shove them away with the tears in your eyes

Hatred colors your world

Selfishness paints it in black

I would reach for your hand if only

I knew you would not pull back
