people always ask where we are from
i heard it all
sometimes, i feel like my people don't stand tall
i understand
when they say, i'm a Nuyo Rican
i dig that
i understand that
but you know what
know your history and culture, no if and or but
we may be quote on quote "Nuyo Ricans"
but before that
you are a Puerto Rican
Puerto Ricans are the reason
we fight
with all our might
Puerto Ricans are the reason
we have our independence
never be a sellout to united states and fall under a category relating to dependence
when people ask me where i'm from
i proudly say the Bronx where it all started for me
but before that
i'm 100% all Puerto Rican
