A Proud Runner

I am a runner through and through

I crave for success; a personal best

I will not settle for less

So I train long hours; it’s nothing new

People say runners are too thin, that we are bit crazy too

But I love who I am, so I refuse to rest

I want the wind in my hair, the ground under my feet, and nothing less

So give me the adrenaline rush and the muscle pains too

My eyes light up with the mere thought of running

It is my constant companion

It is my one true passion

When I am not allowed to run, I feel a constant longing

I am proud of whom I am, although it is only a part of whom I will be

But running sets me free

It lets me fly; it lets me be me
