Protect that Little You

The little you who would stare out the window at night,

Protect that little you.

The little you who'd want to go outside to ride on that bike,

Protect that little you.

When the screaming and the fighting would fill you with fear,

Protect that little you.

When the neighbors would panick from that gun shot outside,

Protect that little you.

When the streets were cold and you were afraid to walk alone,

Protect that little you.

When nobody cared enough to love you,

Protect that little you.

Push aside the broken dreams,

Push aside the countles tears.

Live beyond the given realms,

Discover why you are truly here.

Let the troubles make you stronger,

Do not give up, just fight harder.

So when the day finally arrives,

you'll thank yourself for fighting through the lies.

There was always more in you,

because you protected that little you.
