The Proposal

The ring

Oh how I loved that ring...

Shining oh how it shined...

Finally, the man I loved would be mine.

He promised me forever...

And said he’d never ever...

Hit me again.

The punch

Oh how much that hurt...

Hurting oh how I was hurting...

Finally, I had had it no more.

He promised me forever...

And said he’d never ever...

Hit me again.

The shatter

Oh how violent things had got...

He threw me against the wall and bang…

I was shot.

He knelt down beside me...

And promised me one last thing...

Never will I ever...

Hurt you again.
