The Propaganda War

Location

Misguided and misled,

A teenage youth assumed to be stupid,

Out of sight and out of mind,

Don't be silly, these wars aren't one of a kind,

Freedom is supposed to be a righteous cause,

But war happens too fast for anyone to see the flaws,

Money, power, and greed,

The only fuel these fires need,

A rich man's war becomes a poor man's funeral,

Any attempts to stop this process seem futile,

The mass media rants blind,

Factual information being hard to find,

Propaganda paints a public enemy,

Terrorism has to be the archenemy,

Democracy has its price,

The body bags should suffice,

Families of dead soldiers weep,

While millionaires in congress quietly sleep,

The American people live as prisoners,

Until we realize all politicians are born sinners,

We hope for divine forgiveness,

With the world as our witness,

Politicians have sealed their fate,

Surely to fall short of heaven’s gate,

When asked what would I change,

I respond with a concept that isn’t so strange,

Get rid of apathy and ignorance during war,

We need to know the true cause and what we are fighting for.
