One can promise to be early

One can promise happier times
One can promise different ways
One can promise that they’ll try
So they won’t part ways

One can promise to love, to cherish, to hold
Until both of them are senile and very, very old

One can promise many things
But promises are easily broken
Actions speak louder than words
