The plight of the workers has not gone in vain.
No, their everlasting effect is present still today,
Immigrants from far listen to
The siren-like Golden Door,
Only to be thrown into
The indifferent society that is Capitalism.
Many an hour toiled away
For their daily bread,
Only to be thrown into
The streets poor and unfed.
But their foreign-spoken prayers
Are not made in vain,
For a new party develops
To save the working man.
The promises came,
Slow but true…
And sluggishly the law,
too.
The plight of these workers has not gone in vain,
For their hardships we gained a nine hour workday.
