The Prisoner

Location

Hollywood, CA
United States

The world is just a mirror of the soul

Growing from roots, but barely bold

For the life we live, for time that's sold

For what we seek, for price and gold

What is different between you and I?

We both bleed, we both speak, and we both lie

We seek passion, lust, a dream to grasp

Upon the final moments in which we crash

The American way, the old civilized way...

The gentlemen, women, oh the great idol's we praise

Some to the sky, and some to the screens,

And some from the grass in which we lay

Yet throughout the blue and gray,

I still say,

I am no prisoner.

But only a sinner.
