"Prison Song"

There once was a Boy,
who's eyes were small flames in amber.
His skin was drying mud.

I need not say his name.
The Wind whispers It
Elephants remember.

His heart was pure gold.
He wouldn't harm anything
-from a fly to another.

His mind was lightning.
He read many scriptures
in different tounges.

His stay was in Babylon,

so everything he did was wrong
-from blinking an eye to breathing air
.

Soon the Boy was put away.
Even I knew why this Jailed Bird sang
-much louder when Man hushed him
.

He waited in that cage
for many moons...
...And those moons turned to seasons.

Over time, metal will rust.
He knows this,
and still continues to sing.

For now, he bids his time...
