Proverbs 16:18 

18 Pride goes before destruction,
and a haughty spirit before a fall.

What is pride but leaning ... on a self-made existence.

In the material or mental ... it is easily recognized.

Every one will notice ... except the one who has it

and as a matter of fact ... that is pride analyzed.

Nothing feeds pride more ... than the thought of independence.

Pride slurps it up ... like it is going out of style.

After a while it feeds on self ... with an unending appetite

as in it s final stages ... it will overflow with guile.

Yes it is amazing ... the way we are framed by it.

All our actions will then reflect ... the power of the flesh.

Is it any wonder ... that in this decaying world

pride seems the only color ... that reflects depravity best.
