John 5:39-40  New English Translation

39 You study the scriptures thoroughly because you think in them you possess eternal life, and it is these same scriptures that testify about me, 40, but you are not willing to come to me so that you may have life.

Prepare

We have to come to God, but it is only on His terms

We seem to know about Jesus as being the Only Way

and just for us to desire to be right with God

is far from being enough on the appointed final day
